Increase Hot Water Storage.

We live in an energy conscious age.

Jem Australia products can have a major impact on the effective capacity of any hot or cold water storage system.

As water is saved, the water storage capacity required is reduced. Here’s an illustration from one hotel.

Figure 3 shows the daily usage of hot water before Jem Australia products were installed.

During some peak period the hotel was actually running out of water.

Figure 4 shows the daily usage of hot water after Jem Australia products were installed.



We have calculated the impact on the water storage system by looking at the accumulated water usage (the dotted line) and the recovery rate of the hot water boiler (the solid line).

Where the lines are separated the usage exceeds the recovery rate, so the water is being drawn from the storage.

Figure 5 shows the daily usage of hot water before Jem Australia products were installed.

Figure 6 shows the daily usage of hot water after Jem Australia products were installed.



So, hot water consumption has been reduced by 36%. Storage is required for only two events during the day, the peak period occurring between 2300 and 0500.

Here’s the comparison during the peak period:



Before Jem Australia products were installed, 5,800 litres of storage was required.

After Jem Australia products were installed, the storage requirement was reduced to 3,600 litres, a saving of 2,200 litres (38%).

The hotel no longer ran out of hot water, and received no more complaints from the guests. (about the water!)
